Christine Williams - Paper-clay Porcelain

Christine Williams has a background in fine arts and a love for clay, her passion for art, painting and creativity is expressed in her ceramic vessels.

Christine started working with clay about 10 years ago , she enjoys hand building, wheel work as well as the use of moulds. These techniques help her explore the infinite diversity of her material. She chooses to work with porcelain for its beautiful 'whiteness' which represents her 'canvas'. Christine makes her own paper-clay porcelain - this process lends itself to the sculptural dimension of her pieces. Each vessel is a unique 'one of a kind' piece.

Her surface decorations are created through layering colours at different stages of the drying and firing process. Nature, her garden and everyday life are her inspiration. Artists like Chagall, Van Gogh, Matisse and Monet influence much of her imagery and colours.

Several of Christine's Ceramic Vessels are in private collections around the world.
