One of our ceramic suppliers - Cabo

The origin of the name Cabo: the first European to reach the Cape was the Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias in 1488, who named it the "Cape of Storms" (Cabo das Tormentas). It was later renamed by John II of Portugal as "Cape of Good Hope" (Cabo da Boa Esperança) because of the great optimism engendered by the opening of a sea route to India and the East.

CaBo Design started out as a collaboration project for the Design Indaba but has evolved and grown into a Lifestyle products company after a successful Indaba Expo.

They draw their inspiration from Cape Town and surrounds hence the name Cabo. Their designs are botanical inspired as they believe Nature is the perfect example of good design.

They use only South African produced materials – ceramics, glass, fabric and leather. Which is decorated with our own illustrations of botanicals and items close to Capetonians’ hearts.
